Dear Student Organization Leaders and Advisors,
In order to more formally recognize our amazing student organizations and student leaders at USF Sarasota-Manatee, the Office of Student Life is hosting the 2013-2014 Student Organization Awards Ceremony. The ceremony will take place at Pirate City in Bradenton on Friday, May 2, 2014 from 7pm until 9pm.
You can find the nomination forms for the various awards that will be presented at the Awards Ceremony by clicking here. I encourage you to read through the descriptions of the awards and nominate student organizations or individual student members whom you consider to embody the spirit of the awards (student organizations or individual student members may nominate themselves). Each student organization may only nominate one individual student member or program for each of the awards.
Only USF Sarasota-Manatee Registered Student Organizations are eligible to win the awards. Members of the Student Government Association and Campus Activities Board are not eligible to win the awards.
All student organizations, individual student members, and the student, staff, or faculty members who are nominated or submitted the nominations forms for one or more of the awards will be invited to the awards ceremony. Every student organization and individual student member who was nominated will be introduced during each of the award presentations and the winners will be presented with an award.
In order to prevent bias, winners will be selected by three Student Affairs Professionals from non-USF campuses using only the strength of the nomination forms for each of the awards so be sure that the nominations you submit are thorough, accurate, and articulate. The judges will be invited to the awards ceremony where they will be introduced and thanked for their assistance with the selection process.
Nomination forms are due to me no later than Friday, April 4, 2014 at 5pm either via email to firstname.lastname@example.org or delivered to office A114 in the Student Life and Student Government Suite. Late nomination forms will not be accepted.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at (941) 359-4268 or email@example.com. Thank you for your continued support of our student organizations and student leaders at USF Sarasota-Manatee.

The second annual St. Petersburg Conference on World Affairs is a cooperative venture of the University of South Florida St. Petersburg, together with a group of civic-minded area residents headed by US Ambassador Douglas McElhaney. The Conference will take place February 13 -15 in the University Student Center in downtown St. Petersburg.
Panels of distinguished diplomats, military, media, and academic experts, will discuss critical international issues of the day. The public is cordially invited to attend the three-day conference free of charge.
Last year's Conference was a resounding success. Hundreds of local residents and students attended each of the panels. Participants showed their support through their overwhelmingly positive comments on the presentations.
In its second year, the conference will again welcome a large number of foreign affairs specialists for a larger conference, including more than a dozen panels, on topical international issues. See our website at www.stpetersburgintheworld.com. for specific times and panel topics. It is the objective of the Conference to make available to the people of the Tampa Bay area information, and insights, on foreign affairs issues which are critical to our lives and well-being.
